Before I started working with Cornerstone Creative Coaching, I was a strong student, but my writing felt safe—maybe even a bit clinical. I knew how to follow a rubric, but I didn’t know how to command a page. I’m very appreciative of Professor Cordray’s ability to communicate with me so that we can be on the same page. I appreciate her willingness, openness, and resolve to assist me. It is why I chose to continue to get coaching from her. What sets her method apart isn’t just the line-by-line feedback; it’s the high-level intellectual sparring. We don’t just talk about grammar; we work on and refine my writing until it goes from good to great. I wouldn’t have had the college entrance essays I had without it.

Dawn is an amazing tutor who has helped me learn about new writing skills, such as loglines, passive vs. active sentences, and outlines, all of which are very helpful for my writing. I like Dawn’s teaching because she gives me good advice after reading through a section of my book. With her help, I have accomplished many things, such as enjoying the process of writing a book and learning methods that make writing easier. I’m amazed at the results that I get from the lessons!

Professor Cordray has been a true blessing in our family. Prior to her targeted writing coaching, my son wanted to write, but he struggled with reading and comprehension. He was light-years behind and lacked confidence. I was so fortunate to find Cornerstone Creative Coaching.

Our son was in 6th grade when we asked Cornerstone Creative Coaching to help him. He was struggling with reading and comprehension, and grammar. I guess the big challenge with my son was to earn his trust and connect with him. He is very introverted and does not give his friendship easily. Professor Cordray had the patience and perseverance to have him working with her successfully. With her continuous rewarding words, he improved academically, but above all in his confidence and self-esteem. I love to see him succeed now at school and become every day more independent in his studies.

Also, as a parent, I was worried for my son and Professor Cordray is always been spending a few minutes after the lesson to reassure me and my husband and to explain everything that they were doing together and what she thought was good to do with him. That made me feel part of the process and always aware of my son’s progress.

My daughter Lauren was diagnosed with Dyslexia when she was in the 3^rd grade.  She received accommodations, but not much help with English and learning to write.  She had a huge imagination and lots to say about many topics, but she was never sure how to write it all down.  The summer before my daughter entered high school, I hired Cornerstone Creative Coaching. By the time Lauren started high school, she was prepared for her English classes.  So much so that she went from English her first year, to Honors English as a sophomore, AP English as a junior (where she received a 4 on her AP test), and finally dual-enrolled in College English 2 her senior year.  She received A’s in all her English classes, and her grade on the English portion of the ACT exam was a 34/36.  My daughter is currently a junior in college and has no difficulty with any of her writing, thanks to her hard work and Dawn’s excellent coaching.
